昨日、FacebookでLynyrd Skynyrd（レナード・スキナード）についてのコメントを
書いていて懐かしくなり、無性にこの曲が聴きたくなり、深夜にＬＰ（ＣＤではなく）を
引っ張り出して聴いた。

彼らの代表曲といえば「FREE BIRD」、「SWEET HOME ALABAMA」であり、人に
よっては「SUTURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL」を選ぶ人もいるだろう。
でも僕にとってのレナード・スキナードは、このシンプルマンという曲がベストだ。
歌い出しの「Ｍama told me、、」というフレーズを聞くだけで、僕は亡母の教えを
いつも思い出す。
苦労人であった母は、常に僕に諭し続けた。
「礼節を知り、欲張らず、理屈ばかりを言わず、飾らず、単純にシンプルに生きなさい。
常に身の程を知り、自分を見失わず、誠実に生きる事。それはとても素敵な事よ」
40歳になっても出来ていないよ、と呟いた真冬の夜であった。
